Job Description

The CIO Enterprise Services Data & Analytics team is part of the Enterprise Services CIO function, dedicated to furthering analytics within the Enterprise Services, Group, and SIT business units. As the Data & Analytics Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic vision of ESB's data and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team to identify actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions based on data and facts.
  • Proactively look for ways to use data, analytics, and AI solutions to help the business take a data-driven approach when making key business decisions.
  • Collaborate with ESB's Data and Analytics Manager on evolving and shaping the data and analytics strategy for the company.
  • Define, estimate, and plan the delivery of complex analytic products and services across multiple delivery streams for Enterprise Services, Group, and SIT.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders in Enterprise Services, Group, and SIT to champion analytics and data-driven decision making across the organisation.
  • Work with IT & Digital Management to develop annual budgets for Data & Analytics programmes of work.
  • Regularly update senior stakeholders on status updates and progress of analytics work against time and budget.
  • Support all data-related production systems and deployed data solutions.
  • Ensure an adequate strategic resource plan for the management of the team against the demand of the business unit is in place.
  • Develop team members, including annual PDP reviews, personal and performance management & development, clear goal setting and monitoring, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Work with Enterprise, Business, and Solution Architecture in defining roadmaps and strategies regarding Data & Analytics.
  • Manage financial budgets and any procurement activities.
  • Manage new and existing Data & Analytics projects.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7-10 years' post-qualification experience, preferably with 3 years in an IT role.
  • Relevant third-level qualification or equivalent working experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A good foundational knowledge of Business Intelligence tools and techniques.
  • A genuine interest in learning Data & Analytics concepts, including modelling and statistical approaches.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing a team of people, possessing skills to organise, lead, and motivate the Data & Analytics team.
  • Experience with data governance and compliance to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Strategic influencing skills.

Desirable:

  • Proven ability to champion the benefits of Analytics and promote its widespread use.
  • Proven ability to actively establish, maintain, and strengthen internal and external relationships.
  • Experience in the utility industry with strong numerical, IT, analytical, and communications skills.
  • Proven track record in launching and leading significant and complex analytics projects that delivered measurable business benefits.
  • Experience with advanced analytics and AI technologies to drive business insights and innovation.
  • Proven experience in change management to successfully implement new data and analytics strategies.
  • Strong project management skills to oversee analytics projects from inception to completion.
