Job Description

Position Description CIO Enterprise Services Data & Analytics team are part of the Enterprise Services CIO function and are a team dedicated to furthering analytics within the Enterprise Services, Group and SIT business units enabling them to become an even more data-driven organization. ESB has set an ambitious and bold course of action to help Ireland achieve climate action targets and transition the country to reliable, affordable, low-carbon energy. In its part, Enterprise Services Data & Analytics will bring its resources to forefront in helping ESB realise its Net Zero by 2040 strategy. CIO Enterprise Services Data & Analytics team collaborate very closely with key business stakeholders to identify and understand critical business problems, the underlying data requirements and to further collaborate with the CIO Data & Analytics Hub to build robust data and AI solutions. As the Data & Analytics Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic vision of ESB's data and analytics initiatives. You will lead a forward-thinking teamthat support the business in managing their data, and using that data to effectively leverage analytics and AI which will support decision making within the business, increase efficiencies across Enterprise Services, Group and SIT. Your leadership will be crucial in identifying opportunities for data and AI to deliver on business targets and support ESB's Net Zero by 2040 strategy. Key Responsibilities Lead a team to identify actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions based on data and facts. Proactively look for ways to use data, analytics and AI solutions to help the business take a data driven approach when making key business decisions. Collaborate with ESB's Data and Analytics Manager on evolving and shaping the data and analytics strategy for the company. To define, estimate and plan the delivery of complex analytic products and services across multiple delivery streams for Enterprise Services, Group and SIT. Collaborate with senior stakeholders in Enterprise Services, Group and SIT to champion analytics and data driven decision making across the organisation. Work with IT & Digital Management to develop annual budgets for Data & Analytics programmes of work. Regularly update senior stakeholders on status updates and progress of analytics work against time and budget Support all data related production systems and the deployed data solutions. Ensuring an adequate strategic resource plan for the management of the team against the demand of the business unit is in place. Development of the team members including annual PDP reviews, personal and performance management & development, clear goal setting and monitoring, mentoring and coaching. To work with Enterprise, Business and Solution Architecture in defining roadmaps and strategies regarding Data & Analytics To manage financial budgets and any procurement activities. To manage the new and existing Data & Analytics projects. Experience & Qualifications Essential A minimum of 7-10years' post qualification experience, preferably with 3 years in an IT role. Relevant third level qualification or equivalent working experience. Excellent Stakeholder Management and Communication Skills. A good foundational knowledge of Business Intelligence tools and techniques A genuine interest in learning Data & Analytics concepts including Modelling and Statistical approaches. Minimum 3 years' experience managing a team of people, possessing skills to organise, lead and motivate the Data & Analytics team. Experience with data governance and compliance to ensure data integrity and security. Strategic influencing skills Desirable Proven ability to champion the benefits of Analytics and promote its widespread use. Proven ability to actively establish, maintain, and strengthen internal and external relationships. Experience in utility industry with strong numerical, IT, analytical and communications skills. Proven track record in launching and leading significant and complexanalyticsprojects that delivered measurable business benefits. Experience with advanced analytics and AI technologies to drive business insights and innovation. Proven experience in change management to successfully implement new data and analytics strategies. Strong project management skills to oversee analytics projects from inception to completion. Above all, you must be innovative in your approach and be able to demonstrate your ability to actively contribute to a team that delivers results. Knowledge of the electricity supply, transmission and generation business is not essential, but would be a distinct advantage. Location This position will be based in F27, ESB's Head Office, Dublin 2 ESB is committed to smart working - combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible ways of working. The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.
