What is the role about?

The position of Data Analytics Team Lead will support our Global Logistics Operations Center (G-LOC) in Ireland and be responsible for leading a team of data analytics experts to cover the areas of data management, data warehouse (DWH), and data analytics in order to enable an efficient IT Infrastructure of the G-LOC Team.

Which tasks will you perform?

Team Lead

  • Supervise a team of people in the organization and delivery of their daily tasks.
  • Manage a shift system to monitor all Regional and Country Hub requirements ensuring shifts are resourced appropriately and considering all global and local work environments to deliver service excellence for all E+H PC's and SC's worldwide.
  • Participate in the recruitment of new team members and support the development of a team of people with a passion for excellence and pride in delivering an exceptional service.
  • Design and implement a training and induction process to support new and experienced team members in upskilling and continuous knowledge development.
  • Embrace and promote the use of the Learning platform, encouraging team members to take every opportunity to support their own development.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations, supporting team members to develop and grow through the provision of regular feedback and identifying areas for development.
  • Play a key role in the growth and development of the G-LOC operation, working with the Head G-LOC and other colleagues to define opportunities for success.
  • Any other duties commensurate with your skills and experience as directed by your manager in the development of the role and the G-LOC operation.

Operational

  • DWH management and development, including data modelling (definition and documentation of data structures) in cooperation with internal and external specialists.
  • Close collaboration with the business teams to understand business challenges and find solutions through data analytics.
  • Quantitative ad-hoc analyses, using visual analytics, development of algorithms and machine learning as appropriate.
  • Data visualization, including creation of dashboards (mainly using Tableau Software) in the context of Logistics Services, both financial and non-financial.
  • Evaluation and monitoring of quality and plausibility of data.
  • Operational tasks related to the DWH: performance tuning, security, back-up, etc.
  • Development and maintenance of processes and documentation.
  • Facilitate the discussion and requirements among stakeholders and document requirements to provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Run analysis projects and assess processes based on data analytics.
  • Gather intelligence from the team about needs and future growth.
  • Any other duties commensurate with your skills and experience as requested by your line manager.

What do we expect from you?

  • Bachelor in Business Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics (or other exact sciences) matched with several years of experience in a similar role.
  • Alternatively, strong experience in freight forwarding with a strong data analytics affinity.
  • Experience in data analytics, covering a significant portion, but not necessarily all, of the above tasks.
  • Programming experience, familiarity with SQL and some data management and analysis software (Excel, relational databases, data visualization, Python, R, MATLAB, SAS, SPSS, etc.).
  • In a VUCA world, able to respond to disruptions in the process and set the right priorities at any time.
  • Know-how in Lean Management, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma green belt or comparable methodologies is beneficial.
  • Experience with analytics reporting platforms such as Power BI, QlikView, or Tableau, and knowledge of technical data sourcing and quality principles would be an advantage.
  • Experience in supervising a team would be desirable.
  • Curious to understand data to build the bridge between IT know-how and business understanding.
  • Strong ability in problem solving complemented with analytical thinking.
  • Team spirit and ability to work under high pressure.
  • Fluent spoken and written knowledge of English; one additional language (French, Spanish, German, Chinese) is an advantage.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural, globally dispersed teams and working in a matrix organization.
  • Great communicator and facilitator comfortable working across organizational boundaries and managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Inspires confidence through actions and delivery.
  • Ability to undertake regular business travel to Germany and Switzerland specifically and other Endress+Hauser locations; having a driver license would be an advantage.
