Job Description

Seeking experienced Data Center Operations Engineer to manage critical infrastructure, ensure 100% availability, and provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

Amazon Web Services Korea is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This team works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports Amazon Web Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance.
  • Manage shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring all work performed is in accordance with established practices and procedures.
  • Manage relationships with third-party Colocation providers and their facility staff.
  • Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
  • Assist in data center capacity planning and reporting.
  • May assist in the design and build-out of new facilities.
  • May assist in projects to increase current facility efficiency.
  • Work with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Deliver quality service and ensure all customer demands are met.
  • Procure DCEO-related expenditures.
  • Manage assets and inventory.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of experience in Data Center or mission-critical systems engineering or commissioning, operations, and/or on-call support.
  • An undergraduate/bachelor's degree in a technical field (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering Degree).
  • Business-level English with fluent Korean.
  • An excellent understanding of Electrical systems in critical Data Center operations, including utility substation feeds, transformers, switchgear, VFI Class UPS, DRUPS, PDUs, ATS, STS, SLA/VRLA batteries, and associated systems.
  • An excellent understanding of Mechanical systems in critical Data Center operations, including CRAC/CRAHs/AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, storage tanks, chemical systems, heat exchangers, piping systems, pumps, valves, duct systems, fans, dampers.
  • Appropriate Security and Safety awareness.
  • Datacenter Project Management Experience AND/OR Datacenter or Engineering related certificates.
