Job Description
Data Center Facility Engineer (M&E) role requires overseeing operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure for Data Centers in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud regions.
Our team operates and maintains AWS DCs' world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure. In addition to technical operations and maintenance, the successful candidate will oversee facility operations and ensure the implementation of safety procedures.
The role requires a motivated, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to problems while striving for operational excellence. The work follows a process-oriented approach, requiring a strong willingness to learn new processes and adapt to rapidly changing operational scenarios with conflicting priorities.
The successful candidate will be part of the Engineering and Facilities team and will be responsible for maintaining availability for customers; ensuring maintenance and operation of technical infrastructure; and the upkeep and operation of the DC facility.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience leading and managing operations of critical facilities which require in-depth knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
- City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in data center engineering
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management or similar technical focus
