Data Center Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Center Manager to oversee the design, planning, delivery, and operation of our global infrastructure, ensuring seamless access to our customers.

**About the Role** As a Data Center Manager, you will be responsible for managing a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. **Key Responsibilities** • Manage and develop teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise to ensure highest levels of performance. • Maintain existing co-located and in-house Data Centers. • Help build and bring online new Data Centers. • Continuously improve all processes and procedures. • Assist and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors. • Liaise with internal teams and management groups. • Ensure adherence to and exceed local Health & Safety standards in all Data Centers. • Create and maintain metrics on all aspects of Data Centers and utilize those metrics to drive positive changes. • Assist in implementing service methodologies, including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc. **Requirements** • Previous management experience, managing teams of high performers. • Ability to refine and develop processes to optimize operational excellence in every area of your role. • Previous experience in Data Centers, either building or managing (or both) along with exposure to developing great relationships with both internal teams and external vendors. • Passion for technology along with a desire to be the best at your job every day. • Engineering degree or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience managing large-scale services and 3+ years building and managing successful technical teams. • Experience in incident management, vendor management, and process improvement. • Proven track record of delivering complex projects with prior ownership of mission-critical operations. • Ability to consistently deliver results despite competing priorities. • Security and health & safety awareness. **Preferred Qualifications** • Technical depth to pass at least one of our Network Engineer, Systems Engineer or Developer Support Engineer skill set. • Project Management Experience. • Extensive OE and or Agile experience. • Capacity planning and budgetary experience. • Experience in Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma is preferable. • Change Management & Fault Management. **About Amazon** Amazon is the world's most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform.
