Data Center Operation Manager, TPE - DCO

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast-paced technology company and a leader in the world of data centers. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations and drive vision to take AWS Data Center Operations to the next level.

We are looking for a Data Center Operation Manager with experience in people leadership, technical support as well as data center operations, which covers the scope of capacity planning, racks delivery, installation, decommission, and incident management. As the Data Center Operation Manager, you will lead a team of data center technicians and manage one or more physical sites within an AWS region.
This role is responsible for building and managing a team of 7x24 operations to provide overall data center support in server and network equipment. The successful candidate is expected to be a fast learner or act as the subject matter expert across all aspects of data center operations.

Key job responsibilities:

  1. Hire, develop, build and manage a team of Data Center Technicians, including the management of individual and team performance.
  2. Lead and supervise the team to be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting systems, hardware, and network device issues.
  3. Ensure effective and efficient management of data center operations including ticket queue management, 7/24 shift arrangement and hardware logistics.
  4. Inspire and guide improvement in team process, technology innovation, and automation.
  5. Ensure all operational KPIs and metrics are being measured and met.
  6. Manage outages by severity level and act as the call leader.
  7. Be passionate about the quality and quantity of services being provided, and continuously strive to improve our Customer Experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 5+ years of people management experience.
  2. 5+ years of experience in managing an IT environment.
  3. In-depth knowledge and experience of change, problem, and incident management.
  4. Demonstrated communication skills in presentation, open discussion, and team coaching.
  5. Fluent verbal and written communication in English.
  6. Understanding of financial budgeting, Capex, and Opex concepts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Cumulative experience in Data Center Operations or similar roles in a mission-critical environment.
  2. Cumulative experience with information technology infrastructure domains such as compute server platforms, storage server platforms, server components, network devices, cabling, and IT service delivery principles and best practices.
  3. Project Management skills.
  4. Capacity planning and budgetary experience.
  5. Experience in Safety and Security measures.
  6. ITIL Foundation, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma and/or Risk related certifications.
  7. Linux certification and/or administration experience - RHCSA/RHCE, LPIC, Linux+.
