Job Description

As a Field Engineer at Amazon Web Services, you'll provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. You'll be a key resource for the region, providing technical advice and collaborating with diverse teams to troubleshoot, design, and implement data center upgrades and new constructions. Your expertise will be instrumental in promoting standards, increasing efficiency, and sustainability. You'll work on concurrent projects, sometimes globally, and lead engineering audits to identify risks and recommend mitigations. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to develop innovative solutions and collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers.   • Perform design and equipment submittal review for new Data Centers
  • Troubleshoot and conduct Root Cause Analysis for site/equipment failures
  • Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training and complex operating procedure reviews
  • Own the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions
  • Interface with internal data center operations, design engineering, and environmental health and safety teams
  • Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience with data center or similar industry mechanical equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework in commercial/industrial mechanical systems
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail, and high quality standards
