Job Description

Data Center Technician role involves working in cutting-edge data centers, maintaining infrastructure, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work in some of the most advanced data centers in the world. As a Data Center Technician, you will be part of the Operations team responsible for maintaining and upgrading the data center infrastructure. You will be the primary point of contact for both internal and external customers, including hardware vendors, contractors, and service providers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on assigned trouble tickets via a directed workflow and meet service level agreements
  • Provide first-line support for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues
  • Perform regular server hardware repairs, including drives and motherboards
  • Carry out routine network, server hardware, and OS-related repairs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete routine work
  • Engage with Smart Hands in EU Regional POPs
  • Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center
  • Participate in Data Center power & cooling events
  • Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and daily/weekly goals achievement
  • Identify and create documentation for use globally
  • Identify and create process improvements relevant to the data center environment
  • Perform server upgrades, rebuilds, and scheduled works as required
  • Interact with third-party vendors & contractors
  • Contribute to the development of other team members

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
  • Experience in networking

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
