Job Description
We are seeking a Data Centre Engineer to manage and troubleshoot our information systems in our Irish data centres.
As a Data Centre Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, managing, and troubleshooting our information systems, representing eir evo's presence in our data centres.
You will be part of a cross-functional team that delivers services like infrastructure hosting, backup & DR, VDI, and networking services in our data centres.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing vendor replacement of faulty equipment
- Maintaining inventory, activity, and procedure documentation
- Supervising contractors/customers performing tasks on their host systems
- Installing fiber and copper cross connects for routers, switches, network, and SAN connections to servers and storage
- Troubleshooting facility and rack level events within internal SLA
- Working on-call and a rotating schedule as needed
- Ensuring all personnel on-site follow safety protocols
- Taking daily operational readings and providing metrics reporting to senior engineers
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 7 years of experience in a customer-facing technical support role
- At least 4 years of working in a cloud or datacentre environment
- Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
- Experience working with technologies such as VMware, Azure, Windows Server, HP or Dell Storage Arrays, Kaseya, Autotask, Veeam, Citrix, Azure, Cisco, Palo Alto
