Job Description

Elusav Recruitment are offering an excellent opportunity for a Data Centre Maintenance Engineer to join a dynamic digital infrastructure company in Dublin. The Maintenance Engineer will play a crucial role in operating and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment and systems to ensure optimal availability and reliability. This involves adhering to company policies, processes, and procedures to meet or exceed defined service levels. Responsibilities: Operating and maintaining all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment and systems under a rigorous change management system to ensure 100% uptime availability. Monitoring and troubleshooting all site/plant equipment support systems, including logging and responding to incidents/events, problems, changes, monitoring, problem escalation/notification/resolution, and all other aspects of site support (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, generators, fire alarms, and suppression, etc). Utilising maximum capabilities of all operational systems including BMS, PMS, CMS. Managing sub-contracted resources, as necessary, to deliver a safe and quality service to the Business. Management and coordination of all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) scheduled activity. Management, delivery and oversight of the site Permit to Work (PtW) system. Ensuring a positive Health and Safety (H&S) culture is promoted and maintained across the site. Operating and maintaining power supplies and environmental services to safeguard critical client systems and equipment. To be fully conversant with Company policies, operating and emergency procedures, and initiate improvements, to minimise risk and to promote best practice. Working closely with other site workers on all customer-impacting work to ensure streamlined communication and the maintenance of high levels of customer service. Maintaining up-to-date operational documentation including processes and procedures, inventory reports, incident reports, capacity management reports, service reports, contract documentation, technical drawings etc. Performing and recording details of site walkthroughs to verify efficient operation of equipment and monitoring systems. Acting as a First Responder to critical incidents or events and as main point of contact during significant events or technical escalations. Providing training to contract Maintenance Teams to ensure an appropriate level of knowledge and understanding of Company requirements is established. Ensuring Company policies, processes and procedures are adhered to. Completing site documentation before and after work tasks, as appropriate. Carrying out Risk Assessments of equipment maintenance and other tasks and ensuring these are reviewed and updated as required. Carrying out periodic reviews of processes and procedures to ensure documents are current and valid. Being familiar with and ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with respective Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) statutory requirements national/local regulations and company policies. Troubleshooting utilities problems and managing the execution of a utilities maintenance programmme in order to achieve and sustain optimum reliability, maintainability, useful life, and life cycle cost for utilities assets. Driving local reviews of maintenance performance data using published KPI results. Ensuring PPM programme content is reviewed on regular basis to remove non-value added activities and duplication. Ensuring that the Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) system contains the most up to date information regarding equipment data, spares and maintenance man-hours. Driving consistency in how electrical power monitoring systems are operated across the site. Conducting Post-Incident and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on all incidents. Development, management and implementation of Emergency Operational Procedures (EOPs) and Work Instructions. Creating entries on the Service Desk ticketing system. Carrying out regular audits to ensure optimised operation of equipment. Alarm management, alarm clean-ups and alarm/historical data extractions. Ensuring all tools and equipment are kept in good condition. Asset management and tracking. Requirements: Professional electrical or mechanical certification (National Craft Certificate (NCC), Registered Electrical/Mechanical Contractor (REC), or national equivalent). A minimum of 3 years of experience after obtaining the qualification. Experience in troubleshooting and repairing low & medium voltage electrical systems. Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical/HVAC systems. Knowledge and ability to apply safe electrical practices according to guidelines/regulations set by relevant national electrical safety supervisory bodies. Proficiency in IT, including MS Office (Word/Excel etc). Experience in maintaining various systems such as Pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems and ancillary services, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Clean steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems, CIP systems, Low/Medium voltage Electrical Systems, UPS, Generators, and other associated systems. Strong knowledge and experience of working to international HSE standards. Previous experience in managing a small team. Experience in a customer-facing role and dealing with technical problems in challenging situations. Experience with electrical power monitoring systems in data centers or similar environments. Aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving complex issues through Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Detailed understanding of Change Management processes and procedures. Ability to follow procedures, system documentation, and track issues through appropriate entries into a Service Desk Ticketing system. Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS). Good understanding of PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance)/CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management) systems.
