Job Title: Data Engineer Location: Limerick, Ireland (Hybrid - 2/3 days onsite per week) Job Description: My client is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join their team in Limerick. This role offers the chance to work on advanced data engineering projects, using cutting-edge tools like the Azure stack and Python. The position is a hybrid model with 2-3 days onsite per week and is initially contracted until the end of December 2024, with a likely extension into 2025. As part of this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality data solutions, collaborating with teams, and leading development activities that enhance the customer experience and business decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Data Pipeline Development: Design and implement scalable data pipelines using the Azure stack, Python, ADF, PySpark, Databricks, and SQL. Collaborative Solution Design: Work closely with developers and stakeholders to design and implement proof-of-concept solutions and deliver advanced applications to meet business needs. Team Leadership: Drive effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration to achieve key business outcomes, offering leadership and oversight to development activities. Innovative Data Solutions: Show intellectual curiosity and passion for data visualization and solving business problems, staying ahead of industry trends in analytics and visualization technologies. Development Oversight: Provide management and oversight of development activities, ensuring that coding standards and best practices are followed. Data Systems Management: Manage and deliver the data systems used by Data Analysts and Data Scientists to derive insights and business value. Agile Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Partners to review product requirements, define implementation strategies, and contribute to iterative system updates and product releases. Problem Solving: Create elegant, well-tested solutions to complex problems that enhance operational efficiency and decision-making. Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Technology Sciences, Economics, or a related field (preferred). Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within the Healthcare industry. Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with Azure data tools, Python, ADF, PySpark, Databricks, and SQL. Project Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage complex projects, with a demonstrated capacity to influence and guide teams toward successful outcomes. Problem Solving: Ability to solve complex business problems and communicate recommendations to senior management effectively. Collaboration & Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to facilitate productive discussions and unite diverse individuals to achieve shared goals. Agile Methodology: Experience working within an agile development team to deliver system updates iteratively.
