That purpose is to transform the power system to enable our society to reduce our carbon emissions and meet our climate change and net zero ambitions.Be part of the transformation!Job PurposeEirGrid’s IT Strategy and Emerging Technology Team is ramping up its Data Program and is looking for a Data Governance Lead. This role will see you be responsible for overseeing the continued implementation and management of data governance frameworks, policies and standards in EirGrid.The role involves working with EirGrid’s Data Architects, members of the Data Team in the delivery of data use cases, and with data owners to lead wider data management competencies. As the Data Governance Lead, you will undertake complex work related to the principles and practices of data governance and report the progress and data quality issues regularly to various stakeholders in EirGrid.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the formation, implementation, and management of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.Accountable for the development and implementation of EirGrid’s data governance programme.Chair the Data Governance Forum, coordinating with data owners and stewards to lead wider data management competencies, and foster a culture of data across EirGrid.Drive the development and implementation of data quality standards and adoption requirements across EirGrid.Undertake complex work related to the principles and practices of data governance.Serve as a point of escalation for governance, and data quality issues.Drive the improvement of the quality and value of core data assets, and regularly report the progress to management.Ensure EirGrid’s Data Governance initiatives align and support EirGrid’s strategic objectives.Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceA minimum of 15 years’ experience in data management and 10+ years in a leadership and stakeholder engagement role.Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality management, regulatory and regulatory compliance.Excellent understanding of potential data risks associated with data management, including data handling, data quality, and artificial intelligence.Exposure and good understanding of other data disciplines such as Analytics, Data Engineering and Data Architecture.Demonstrable experience leading high performing teams, with an ability to persuade, educate and motivate others in achieving business objectives.If you believe you have the skills and experience relevant for this position, please upload your CV and a cover letter.
