Job Description

Morgan Mc Kinley have been retained by a state body to find a junior data protection support analyst to join their team.

Ensuring regulatory requirements and legal obligations are met, this role provides expert legal support to the organization.

This includes offering advice on specialized legal issues, managing litigation, reviewing and drafting legal documents, and guiding the business on regulatory matters.

The Data Protection Office is responsible for ensuring full compliance with data protection laws and developing data protection strategies.

The team maintains compliance with privacy and data protection regulations while supporting business goals.

The following are key responsibilities:

  • Conduct risk assessments for data protection and privacy concerns in projects
  • Support the business in completing Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and other relevant evaluations
  • Advise on data transfers and compliance with data protection standards
  • Ensure third-party agreements for personal data processing are in place
  • Assist in processing Data Subject Requests
  • Investigate and respond to data protection-related complaints, inquiries, and breaches
  • Maintain the Data Protection Risk Register
  • Monitor and report on compliance across the organization
  • Participate in data governance activities
  • Prepare monthly data protection key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics
  • Coordinate the activities of the organization's Data Stewards
  • Handle additional administrative tasks related to the Data Protection Office's operation
  • Collaborate with various internal teams, including leadership, HR, facilities, and legal departments
  • Promote and uphold health and safety standards across the business and its supply chain
  • Support broader organizational initiatives and contribute to transformation projects

Key requirements include:

  • Relevant experience in data protection or a relevant qualification
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a related industry
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage complex issues proactively and communicate effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose and implement improvements
