Job Summary: We are seeking two Care Workers to provide social activity-based care to people with dementia in their own homes across Carrickmacross, Castleblayney & surrounding areas.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is a national non-profit organisation that provides dementia specific services and supports to people living with dementia and their carers.
Job Description:
- Provide social activity-based care with minimum personal care to people with dementia in their own homes.
- Deliver music sessions, reminiscence therapy, arts & crafts, gentle exercises, conversation, companionship and recreational activities.
- Provide person centered care to people with dementia in the client's own home.
- Work independently and use own initiative to plan and deliver care.
Requirements:
- Previous experience of undertaking social and cognitive stimulation activities with people with dementia, older people or people with intellectual disabilities.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Full clean driving license and access to a car.
- Confidence in using IT/Email.

The role holder must adhere to all National Guidelines laid out in QSPD guidance and be always COVID aware.
Training in PPE / Infection Control and other relevant areas will be provided by The ASI prior to the role holder entering a client's home.
