Day Service Facilitator role seeks to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities through person-centered services, community integration, and social inclusion.
As a Day Service Facilitator, you will enable individuals to participate in a range of activities, including education, employment, sports, and social pursuits, promoting active citizenship and community engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitating and supporting service users in various service and community-based programs
- Identifying and supporting opportunities for building people's natural support networks and social roles
- Utilizing alternative communication aids and assistive technology
- Providing excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Supporting individuals in person-centered planning, capacity building, and social inclusion
Requirements:
- Relevant third-level qualification in Social Care, Education, Community Development, or Training
- Minimum three years' experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities or similar field
- Experience in person-centered planning, capacity building, social inclusion, positive behavior supports, community development, advocacy, and empowerment
- Ability to facilitate and support service users in a variety of service and community-based programs
- Awareness of New Directions Personal Support Services for People with Disabilities, the EASI Process, and the Interim Standards for New Directions
- Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- A full clean driving license and use of own vehicle
