Support Instructor for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities
Seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support individuals with intellectual disabilities in our Day Services based in the Dublin area.
- Relevant third level qualification in Social Care, Education, Training, etc. (QQI Level 6 Major Award or higher)
- 1 year of experience working with people with support needs, preferably intellectual disability
- Enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, and empathy for working with people across the spectrum of intellectual disabilities
- Knowledge of and commitment to adhering to high levels of infection prevention and control
- Experience in Person Centred Planning and individualised services and supports
- Knowledge and experience in implementing QQI programmes is advantageous
- Willingness to support individuals in their personal care if required
- Knowledge of HSE National Policy of Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons
- A commitment to HSE New Directions Policy
- Proficient ICT skills
- Full clean manual driving licence and a willingness to drive as part of role
As a Support Instructor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to have valued social roles and become active citizens accessing mainstream services within the local and wider community.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to person-centred planning and individualised services and supports, as well as experience in implementing QQI programmes.
