Support Instructor required for Day Services in Dublin area to work with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
St John of God Liffey Services is a leading provider of support services for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Instructor to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a Day Services setting.
- Develop and implement individualised plans to promote independence and inclusion.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure high-quality support services.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Positive Behaviour Supports.
- Implement QQI programmes and support individuals in their personal care if required.
Requirements:
- Relevant third-level qualification in Social Care, Education, Training, etc. (QQI Level 6 Major Award or higher).
- 1 year of experience working with individuals with support needs, preferably intellectual disability.
- Enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, and empathy for working with individuals across the spectrum of intellectual disabilities.
- Knowledge of and commitment to high levels of infection prevention and control.
- Experience in Person Centred Planning and individualised services and supports.
- Knowledge and experience in implementing QQI programmes is advantageous.
Desirable Skills:
- Proficient ICT skills.
- Full clean manual driving licence and willingness to drive as part of role.
- Awareness and understanding of alternative communication aids and assistive technology.
