Job Description

The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland, Clare Region, provides services throughout Clare County to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. Our supports stretch to many rural towns and villages in Clare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination, development, and implementation of individual plans to meet the aspirations and goals of each person supported.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations and deliver supports for a number of individuals in your area.
  • Engage the community in the services provided and have an inclusive approach to all aspects of service delivery.
  • Assist in the coordination of support staff in all aspects of daily work.
  • Highlight the importance of meaningful relationships and community inclusion.

Person-Centred Service:

  • Facilitate and implement a person-centred service appropriate to the needs, wishes, and requirements of the individual.
  • Work with individuals in a way that promotes their equality, dignity, diversity, and rights.
  • Provide personal assistance in all aspects of personal development and personal care.

Supporting Individuals:

  • Support individuals to identify their future aspirations and current support needs.
  • Assist each individual in reaching their maximum potential in independence, communication, and personal development.
  • Promote advocacy through listening to the individual's wishes and assisting them by advocating on their behalf.

Teamwork and Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive supports.
  • Support others on your team to develop their skills in the area of support work.
  • Ensure the welfare and well-being of all individuals who avail of our service.

Requirements:

  • A relevant third-level qualification to a minimum of degree level.
  • Competencies and skills appropriate to working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
