Job Description
Engineering DC Operations Facility Manager
Manage the engineering operations and maintenance of Amazon's global infrastructure, ensuring 100% availability of mechanical and electrical services.
Lead a team of engineers responsible for risk management, corrective and preventative maintenance, vendor management, and metrics reporting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing scalable capacity at the lowest possible cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the build out of facility-specific infrastructure in existing locations.
- Manage shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure work is performed in accordance with AWS practices and procedures.
- Ensure engineering systems availability in leased and colocated facilities.
- Conduct financial analysis and contribute to financial decisions.
- Manage and develop teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise.
- Negotiate and roll out contracts, defining and auditing SLAs.
- Conduct project management for multiple sites.
- Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical systems.
- Assist in recruitment efforts.
Requirements
- Degree in engineering or technical field.
- 8+ years of people management experience.
- 5+ years of experience building successful engineering teams.
- 3+ years of relevant engineering operation experience managing large-scale services.
- Excellent command of English.
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline.
