Job Description
We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team supporting a multinational biotech client in Cork. The selected candidate will design, configure, implement, test, commission, troubleshoot, and perform change controls on the site DCS (Foxboro platform). The ideal candidate has experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology sectors and must have previous DCS/PLC experience, with a strong understanding of GMP manufacturing, GAMP lifecycle, and quality management processes.
Responsibilities:
* Designing, building, configuring, and validating changes on the site DCS (Foxboro platform).
* Configuring different Foxboro DCS applications and software.
* Supporting day-to-day operations.
* Executing test cases.
* Reviewing functional/design requirements and maintaining documentation for control systems.
* Maintaining the validated state of the site control systems in line with client quality standards.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as an Automation Engineer with increased levels of responsibility.
* Experience designing, implementing, and supporting automation solutions for clients in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industries.
* Good knowledge of GMP manufacturing, GAMP lifecycle, and quality management processes employed in the pharmaceutical sector.
* Experience with DCS or PLC batch software design on SI or site-based projects.
* Good multi-tasking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills with an ability to engage with management and engineering functions.
We are looking for a team player with a Bachelor's degree equivalent in Mechatronic, Chemical, Electrical, or Bio-Process Engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years of experience as an Automation Engineer/Control Systems Engineer or Software Engineer or related occupation.
