Job Description
Kildare County is seeking a Decarbonising Climate Officer to fill permanent and contract posts. The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant field and at least five years of experience in sustainable development, energy, and climate change. They will possess excellent project management skills, a high standard of administrative and management experience, and a satisfactory level of knowledge in biodiversity and green infrastructure. The officer will be responsible for managing and motivating staff, communicating with stakeholders, and reporting on actions.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate multiple projects related to emission reduction, carbon reduction, and climate action.
- Develop and implement strategies to accelerate behavioural change.
- Manage and motivate staff, including strong judgement and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate findings to a non-technical audience through technical report writing.
- Have excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
- Have technical competence and experience in delivering successful outcomes.
- Requirements:
- Relevant degree (level 8) with First or Second Class Honours or equivalent professional qualification.
- Not less than five years of satisfactory relevant and acceptable post qualification experience.
- Hold a full valid Irish/EU licence for Class B vehicles and be a competent driver.
