Job Description Reporting to the Pensions Administration Manager, you will be assisting in the day to day operation of the Pension Administration Section. This role involves coordinating and overseeing various administrative and operational tasks to ensure a smooth and efficient functioning of the team. Responsibilities The principal responsibilities associated with the role include, but are not limited to: Overseeing the day to day administration of the Pension calculations and Pension Payroll ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements and the terms and conditions of the Pension Scheme Rules. Managing the processing of pension benefits, including calculations, transfers etc. Ensuring timely and accurate maintenance of records, documentation and scheme booklets. Ensuring all aspects of member benefits are communicated in a timely and effective manner. Ensuring controls and performance measures are in place to deliver efficient and high value services to members. Presenting financial information in a confident, logical and convincing manner to the Head of Shared Services and Senior Management. Leading, mentoring and managing a team, to include providing guidance and support, assigning tasks and responsibilities, monitoring performance and conducting performance reviews. Developing and implementing training programs to enhance teams skills and knowledge. Serving as the point of contact for members, addressing enquiries and resolving any issues. Designing and distributing communication materials and developing workshops/informational sessions for members. Assisting in the development of the communication strategy of the Pension Scheme. Managing the Pension Administration System (ERA) and liaising with the IT department and external consultants to seek solutions to streamline and amend the current processes. Overseeing the maintenance and integrity of relevant systems and databases and implementing and managing technology solutions to streamline pension administration and pension payroll processes. Ensuring data privacy and security in accordance with company policies and regulations. Working with the Transformation Process Lead and functional subject matter experts within the Pensions Admin team to understand "As Is" processes, supporting technology, pain points and opportunities; analysing the current state to facilitate improvement activity and defining the "To Be" based on technical and Target Operating Model (TOM) designs and considering best practice. Critically review and question the current procedures/process to determine better ways of working within the function. Contributing to a range of projects including (for example) Auto Enrolment, IORPS compliance, Purchase of Service, Refund of Contributions, Leaving Options Letters, IDR process etc. Assisting in the Severance Scheme calculation process and act as a point of contact in relation to the financial aspects of the VS Scheme. Demonstrating An Post values and behaviours in your day to day work and addressing behaviour that supports/conflicts with them. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years work experience in pension plan administration, at least 2 of which should be in a supervisory or managerial role. You will ideally hold a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Finance or another related field, along with a professional certification in Pensions. You will have an in-depth understanding of pension regulations and administration best practices and demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills. You are highly organised, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also key for this role. A high level of proficiency in Excel is required.
