Job Description

Deputy Social Care Manager required to supervise social care staff, assist with implementing departmental policies and procedures, and ensure the highest possible quality service is provided to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise social care staff and assist with implementing departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist with budgeting, health and safety, staff supervision, training, and appraisal.
  • Deputise for the Manager in operational aspects and ensure the service is of the highest possible quality.
  • Assess and supervise the assessment of young persons' needs and ensure an appropriate level of care is provided.
  • Delegate key worker duties to social care workers and take up key working duties themselves.
  • Liaise with other agencies in a professional and positive manner.
  • Ensure the social, occupational, recreational, medical, dietary, and religious needs of clients are met.
  • Work on a rota basis and respond to emergency calls when required.
  • Be responsible for own personal training and development plan and promote self-development amongst staff.
  • Undertake other duties as required by the Manager.
  • Maintain an awareness of health and safety requirements.
  • Work individually and within the team to provide the necessary backup for all staff.
  • Maintain high levels of communication within the teams of staff, individual colleagues, and residents.
  • Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
  • Carry out any additional duties as requested.
  • Undertake any additional training and development programmes as required.
  • Review the job description for your post on a regular basis and agree any changes.
  • Be up to date on and follow the relevant procedures contained in the Home's Policies and Procedures file.
  • Be accountable to the Manager for all areas of your duties and responsibilities.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: €40,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
