Design Engineering Director
A leading Multinational Semiconductor EDA Software provider requires a Design Engineering Director to lead and develop ultra-high-speed controller IP developments.
About the Role
This is a key leadership position that requires a strong technical background and experience in managing teams to achieve business goals.
- Lead and develop new ultra-high-speed controller IP developments
- Technically lead the Ethernet IP and subsystem design/verification team
- Collaborate with Cadence high-speed Ser Des teams to produce full Ethernet subsystems and solutions
- Architect SOC/NOC based solutions with a team
Requirements
- Previous experience developing and building teams to achieve business goals
- Extensive protocol knowledge in key protocols such as DDR, PCIe, CXL, UCIe, Ethernet, Flash Storage, etc.
- Ability to architect SOC/NOC based solutions with a team
- Extensive RTL implementation knowledge, including full design flow knowledge
- Extensive design flow knowledge to provide efficient flows to meet business goals
- Knowledge of Metric Driven Verification (MDV) and Formal techniques
- Knowledge of how to best utilize cloud-based computing solutions, configuration management, and associated farms
Education and Experience
- Honors Degree BSc and/or MSc in Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Minimum 20 years of industry experience
- Ability to manage a technical team of up to 12 people and drive teams towards defined goals and roadmaps
- Ability to assess product development and work with marketing to define a roadmap that satisfies customers' needs
- Ability to report to and advise upper management
- Ability to travel and support internal strategic business development meetings and external customer-based meetings
