Job Description
Join our team of consulting engineers as a geotechnical engineer, producing technical documents and drawings, conducting site inspections, and participating in client and internal meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Produce technical documents, geotechnical models, and drawings for routine design problems and site inspections.
- Carry out design calculations, reporting, and laboratory tests with a strong focus on delivery dates and budget awareness.
- Design ground investigation campaigns, supervise site investigations, and review results and borehole logs.
- Participate in client and internal meetings as part of the design team.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2.1 Bachelor Degree or Masters in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology, or similar related subject.
- Minimum 2+ years experience in geotechnical engineering firm or similar company, preferably in Ireland.
- Experience in geotechnical design of infrastructure projects, knowledge of Irish geology and geotechnical/soil mechanics principles, and practical knowledge of geotechnical reporting and design software.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, commitment to continued professional development, and understanding of Eurocode principles and public procurement process in Ireland.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.
- Working towards Chartered status.
- Knowledge of BIM and core concepts and principles.
