Job Description
Geotechnical Engineer sought by leading Consulting Engineers in Ireland. Key responsibilities include producing technical documents, site inspections, and design calculations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce technical documents including Desk Studies, ground investigation reports, and geotechnical design reports.
- Carry out site inspections and supervision to confirm compliance with specifications.
- Undertake design calculations and reporting independently, with a focus on delivery dates and budget awareness.
- Design ground investigation campaigns and procurement documentation and drawings.
- Supervise ground investigations and other geotechnical aspects of construction.
- Schedule laboratory tests and review results and borehole logs.
- Participate in client and internal meetings as part of the design team.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2.1 Bachelor Degree or Masters in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology or similar subject.
- Minimum 2+ years experience in geotechnical engineering firm or similar company, preferably in Ireland.
- Experience in geotechnical design of infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of Irish geology and geotechnical/soil mechanics principles.
- Working experience of site investigation, laboratory techniques, and associated software and analysis tools for soil and rock logging.
- Practical knowledge of geotechnical reporting and geotechnical design software.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and outside agencies.
- Commitment to Continued Professional Development.
- Understanding of Eurocode principles in geotechnical design.
- Knowledge of BIM and core concepts and principles.
