Job Description

We are seeking a Design Manager to lead a building project in Co. Carlow. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction, project management, or design management, with strong team leadership skills and excellent communication abilities. The role involves managing multiple design team disciplines, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely resolution of design issues. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of Target Value Design and Constructability solutions, as well as a sound commercial understanding with risk management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage design from exemplar drawings to completion of the project
  • Coordinate with external client team, design consultants, internal construction and estimation teams, and specialist subcontractors
  • Prepare and review technical aspects of the design to ensure all works are included in the final design
  • Track and manage design risks throughout the process
  • Contribute to written proposals and facilitate client understanding of design philosophy
  • Manage design budget and monitor performance
  • Ensure timely submission of Reviewable design data and technical submittals
  • Coordinate client presentations and drive continuous improvement through post-design reviews
  • Manage complex technical multi-workstream solutions
