Job Description

Design Manager (Relocate to Canada) Exciting opportunity for aDesign Manager to relocate to Canada and join the Building Division of one of Canadas Largest Main Contractors (Circa $3 Billion turnover annually) to work across a mixed portfolio of High-Rise, Commercial, Healthcare, Airport, Defense and Educational projects. Duties: Manage the design process from start to finish, including coordinating activities and understanding regulatory requirements. Review contractual obligations and project budgets, ensuring compliance. Lead consultant teams and retain consultants for the project. Develop and manage QA processes to ensure design completeness and compliance. Create and manage detailed design schedules aligned with project timelines. Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, consultants, and authorities. Develop technical expertise within the team and comply with regulations. Promote a positive safety culture and ensure adherence to design policies and procedures. Monitor design efforts for compliance and cost-effectiveness. Interface with other project teams to coordinate design efforts. Audit design documents for completeness and quality. Notify stakeholders of any contract variances and provide support to project teams. Negotiate with clients and resolve issues as they arise. Educate stakeholders on technical aspects of the design process. Build and maintain relationships with clients and consultants. Requirements: Degree/Diploma in Construction, Engineering or Architecture. 10 Years+ in Construction and at least 3 years in Design Management for a Main Contractor in Ireland/UK. Solid understanding of construction industry practices. IT Skills: MS Office, BIM 360, Navisworks, Revit, ACONEX and Revizto. Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Available to relocate permanently to Canadawithin 6-9 months. Benefits: Salary $125,000 to $155,000 CAD (Circa €85k to €105k) + Vehicle allowance Bonus / Profit sharing scheme. Generous relocation support package provided (Flights, Initial accommodation etc).
