Job Description

Position Description The Enterprise Services business unit is the strategic advisor to ESB's businesses. It is also responsible for delivery and operational excellence. ESB Group operates one of the most advanced and critical technology landscapes in Ireland. We are recruiting a Digital Strategy and Transformation Manager that will support the transformation of ESB to a digital utility. Successful candidates will work with our business and IT capabilities to identify where digital, and data can help solve the energy industry's decarbonisation challenge. This is a senior level position in the Digital Accelerator which is in the office of the CIO and will work alongside members of the team including Digital Strategy and Transformation Leads for ESB Networks, Enterprise Services, Group, Customer Solutions and Generation and Trading. Key Responsibilities : Groupwide Digitalisation Strategy Develop and communicate a vision for how digital can unlock value aligned with strategic objectives goals. Provide leadership and direction to ensure the successful implementation of digital initiatives. Support the Digital Accelerator Manager to oversee and govern the implementation of ESB's Digitalisation Strategy Refresh, monitor and report on key enterprise Digitalisation wide KPI's in line with industry benchmarks. Represent CIO at Digitalisation forums across the group as appropriate. Partner with key stakeholders, including Business Leaders, Architecture, Cyber, Analytics, IT Delivery, Change Management, and operations teams to ensure alignment and support for digital initiatives. Oversee the strategic development of key groupwide digital initiatives Transformation Leadership As required, lead the establishment & operation of business unit specific transformation offices which would consist of : Updating and maintaining a suite of strategic deliverables in line with business unit transformation strategies and communicating changes to these across the delivery pillars where appropriate Own and maintain groupwide transformation and value office methodologies. Ensuring people experience and customer experience implications are understood at a high level Facilitate cross-functional collaboration using design thinking and conventional analytical methodologies where practical to drive transformation efforts. Develop and manage comprehensive digital transformation roadmaps, identifying key initiatives to deliver transformation incrementally. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends including Generative AI. Engage with Solution Planning exercises to valuate and recommend appropriate technologies and digital solutions that can enhance operational efficiency and customer experience. Leverage data analytics capabilities to inform strategic decisions and measure the impact of digital initiatives. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track value to ensure benefits are realise Oversight of value office activity Experience & Qualifications Essential Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience Strategy development, digital product design, business analysis or similar IT experience Relevant 3rd level Degree or equivalent work experience Leadership experience of a senior programme or project and reporting on progress at a senior level Experience leading a team. Desirable Design thinking or Product Development Accreditations such as Safe Agile or Design Sprint Understanding of large-scale assets such as energy generation and networks Data analytics knowledge Commercial Acumen Management Consulting experience MBA Location This position will be based in F27, ESB Head Office, Dublin 2 (Smart Working suitable). The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.
