As the Director of Data Analytics, you will lead our highly skilled team of data scientists and analysts to advance our analytics capabilities, directly impacting our clinical products and services. Your strategic vision will guide the development of cutting-edge solutions that drive cost containment and clinical improvements, benefiting both OptumRx clients and members. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering innovative AI/ML solutions and robust analytics to enhance our pharmacy benefit management (PBM) services. Primary Responsibilities of the Director of Data Analytics: • Develop and execute a strategic vision for leveraging data science and analytics across the organization.• Drive the adoption of advanced analytical and AI/ML methodologies to solve complex business problems.• Lead and mentor a team of Principal and Senior Data Analysts.• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.• Manage resource allocation and project prioritization, ensuring alignment with business goals.• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and senior leaders within the organization.• Act as a senior consultant to business units, understanding their challenges and translating them into data-driven strategies.• Communicate complex analytical outcomes and strategic insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner.• Proactively incubate and develop new analytical and AI/ML solutions that address emerging business needs and opportunities.• Oversee the design and implementation of scalable data products and advanced analytics solutions that lead the market in terms of innovation and efficacy.• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, sustainable, and scalable solutions by collaborating effectively with IT and business partners.• Lead the team in rapid prototyping, testing, and iterating on new insights to support dynamic business needs. You will be rewarded and recognised for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications of the Director of Data Analytics: • Extensive experience in data science, analytics, and engineering roles, preferably in a healthcare and/or in PBM business.• Proficiency with cloud technologies, MS Azure, Python, SQL, Databricks, Data Factory, and Git.• Proven track record of leading data science teams and projects.• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.• Exceptional ability to communicate technical concepts and insights to stakeholders at all levels across the organization.• Experience in effectively managing cross-functional projects and teams. Preferred Qualifications of the Director of Data Analytics: • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a discipline with a strong analytical focus such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering.o Experience in deploying AI/ML solutions in a healthcare setting that have delivered measurable business impact.o Prior experience in a consulting or strategic advisory role in analytics.
