Director Finance - Dublin

Lead the financial management of ICON plc, a world-leading healthcare intelligence and clinical research organization, and drive innovation and excellence in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

We are seeking a Director, Finance to join our team and manage the Global Business Services (GBS) Business Partner team. This role will focus on providing high-quality financial reports and analysis, developing financial management initiatives, and driving value-added projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a culture of process improvement to streamline operations, add value to the business, and meet client needs
  • Oversee various departments within the GBS functions, including Finance, IT, Facilities, HR, Contracts, Procurement, QA, Training, Marketing, Legal, and Corporate Management
  • Coordinate, develop, and lead the GBS Business Partner (BP) team
  • Establish collaborative partnerships with stakeholders to enhance GBS practices and service delivery
  • Collaborate on accurate consolidated and departmental forecasts, budgets, and long-term plans
  • Conduct variance analysis of financial results compared to previous forecasts and budgets
  • Benchmark GBS departments against industry standards and establish performance measures and goals
  • Prioritize talent development, building a strong team capable of meeting customer requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master's in Finance) highly advantageous
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible financial management experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing diverse financial departments and functions
  • Proven expertise in financial forecasting, budget management, and variance analysis
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on talent development
  • Strong financial acumen, including advanced knowledge of financial modeling, data analysis, and financial reporting
