Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Director of Data Science and Engineering to lead and shape our data-driven technical strategies, with a focus on developing and delivering impactful solutions across the entire operations value chain. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in process and product development, with the ability to drive innovation and optimization in predictive analytics covering all aspects of technical operations. They will also have a strong background in data science and be adept at leveraging both current and emerging technologies, such as AI, machine learning, and cloud computing, to address complex challenges in pharmaceutical development and manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Leverage your deep understanding of processes such as drug substance and drug product development/manufacturing, and packaging, to collaborate with process scientists and drive process optimization and innovation, improve efficiencies and resilience in supply chain.
- Establish and lead the development of data pipelines for processing and managing large technical datasets from development to manufacturing and quality operations utilizing enterprise cloud and analytics capabilities.
- Supports analysis of process deviations using statistical techniques and data-driven insights to identify root causes and provide actionable recommendations for process improvements and corrective actions.
- Champion cloud technologies and digital solutions to optimize processes, enhance visibility, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead the implementation of generative AI solutions to enhance data-driven decision-making, identify high-value use cases, and deploy AI-driven tools for process optimization and innovation across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering (Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field)
- 15+ years of experience in the biotechnology industry with demonstrated leadership in data science and engineering.
- Strong scientific understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing teams of data scientists, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
