Lead a team of data engineers in developing a cutting-edge big-data platform to support advanced analytics and machine learning models, improving health outcomes for millions of people.

As Director of Data Engineering, you will be responsible for leading the team that integrates multiple complex data sources into our data platform, with a mix of different infrastructure and various data applications and tools.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and mentor a talented team of data engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Work with business units to support advanced analytics and strategy teams' data needs to help lower medical and pharmacy costs.
  • Collaborate with Data Science and Business Intelligence leaders to design and implement a secure, compliant, and scalable data infrastructure.
  • Build common frameworks and best practices in code development, deployment, and automation/orchestration of data pipelines.
  • Identify, design, and champion process improvements throughout the processing lifecycle for data quality, encryption, de-identification, role-based access, automation, and optimization.

Required qualifications include:

  • MS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or other technology fields.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing data engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of DevOps tools, Git workflow, and building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong experience in data engineering leadership roles, preferably within the healthcare industry.
  • Strong experience in data architecture, data modelling, data warehousing, and big data technologies.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or other technology related fields.
  • Healthcare industry knowledge and experience.
  • Data engineering certifications.
  • Data virtualization tools and technology experience.
  • Experience building statistical models using SAS or R.
