Director of Distribution
Our new expanding client are looking for a Director of Distribution to lead and develop its new Distribution Centre in Dublin.
The role will focus on managing the centre's operations, working closely with senior management, and supporting stakeholders across their network.
The appointee will oversee commercial aspects to maximize profitability, collaborating with Operations, Procurement, and Finance, and leading a team of supervisors, operatives, stock controllers, and transport managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a bestinclass distribution centre.
- Drive stock management, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Minimize overheads and stock losses while ensuring strong health & safety standards.
- Lead and mentor the team, ensuring toptier customer service.
- Develop costeffective, secure solutions adding value to customers and suppliers.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and staff onboarding in partnership with HR.
- Ensure financial and security compliance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in wholesale distribution (consumer goods).
- Strong strategic, operational, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to manage teams and deliver results.
- Excellent communication, planning, and analytical skills.
- Financially savvy, with accountability for margins and profit expectations.
