About the role: Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with other members of the University Leadership, the Director of HR will support organisational change and ensure implementation of current human resources practice and plans at Trinity College Dublin. The Director will have a systems thinking mindset and will be able to see how all of the different people ambitions of the university, strategic commitments which impact people, and different legislative obligations, can be brought together and effectively executed, to make Trinity College the best workplace it can be. As Director of HR you will: Lead and manage the Human Resources function and advise on all aspects of leadership and management of staff in the HR context Maintain and enhance a comprehensive human resource policy framework for the University in line with the Human Resources Strategy Advise the University on relevant Government/HEA directives Support the on-going development of leadership capacity across the University Represent the University nationally and internationally particularly in terms of liaising with Government Departments To be successful in this role you will need: A relevant 3rd level qualification, in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a relevant field, will be a full member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and will demonstrate interaction with other networks in order to stay current in evolving HR practice A minimum of 10 years proven experience in Human Resources Management; ideally gained across public and private sector organisations, with a minimum of 7 years experience at senior management level A practical appreciation of the challenges faced by a University in the context of ongoing public service reform is required Experience in a large and complex organisation, and previous employment in a unionized environment will be an advantage The ability to see the bigger picture in the context of HR in the University is essential Salary: This appointment will be made on the Senior Administration One salary scale (€138,680- €175,307 per annum) in line with current Government pay policy.
