Seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead a team of skilled professionals in a peaceful, rural nursing home in County Mayo, Ireland.
As Director of Nursing, you will oversee the nursing department, providing strategic direction and managing day-to-day nursing operations. You will lead and mentor a team of skilled professionals to ensure high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic direction and managing day-to-day nursing operations
- Leading and mentoring a team of skilled professionals
- Ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Co-managing and supporting all departments, including nursing, household, maintenance, and catering staff
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a registered nurse in the last 6 years in care of the older person
- Currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Post-registration in management qualification (QQI Level 6 minimum)
- Postgraduate diploma in Gerontology is desirable
- Working knowledge of HIQA standards, procedures, and guidelines
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Sound decision-making ability and results-driven
