Medforce Healthcare Recruitment is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to join our team of dedicated nurses at a peaceful, rural nursing home with beautiful river views in County Mayo. As the Director of Nursing, you will oversee the nursing department, providing strategic direction and managing day-to-day nursing operations. You will lead and mentor a team of skilled professionals to ensure high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards. This leadership role is critical in shaping the future of our nursing services and fostering a culture of excellence. Requirements Minimum 3 Years of experience as registered nurse in the last 6 years in care of the older person. Currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). Post registration in management qualification (QQI Level 6 minimum). Post Graduate diploma in Gerontology is desirable. Working knowledge of HIQA standards, procedures, and guidelines. Excellent Leadership, Organisational and Communication skills. Sound decision making ability and results driven. To provide support, advice, and guidance to the Home by way of an on-call arrangement. To co-manage and support all departments including nursing, household, maintenance, and catering staff. Good appreciation of finance issues. Ability to motivate self and others and work on own initiative. Ability to work well and promote a team environment. Some of the Benefits Competitive salary and great benefits.
