**Director of Nursing Role Summary** Lead the Nursing Department at the Hospital, ensuring high-quality patient care and professional practice in accordance with statutory and clinical governance requirements. The Director of Nursing is responsible for the professional leadership and management of the Nursing Department at the Hospital. Key responsibilities include: * Ensuring effective, patient-centered professional practice in accordance with statutory and clinical governance requirements * Holding corporate management responsibility as a member of the Executive Management Board * Providing principal advice to the Executive Management Board on professional nursing issues * Developing, implementing, and monitoring quality standards of nursing care * Contributing to safety, quality, and risk management practices of the Hospital * Managing the Scheduled Care portfolio and ensuring unscheduled care provision is safe and timely for patients, families, and carers * Directing a range of functions that impact patient experiences * Collaborating with Clinical Directors to ensure clinical governance agenda is delivered within divisions * Providing advice to the Chief Executive Officer on nursing, clinical governance, and patient safety matters **Requirements** * Registered or eligible for registration in the General Nurse Division and other relevant divisions of the Register of Nurses and Midwives * 10 years post-registration nursing experience and 5 years nursing management experience at a minimum of Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM 2) level * 3 years of experience in an acute setting * Completed a post-registration programme of study verifying a National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 8 or higher award * Possess clinical, leadership, managerial, and administrative knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office **Salary and Benefits** * Salary ranging from €91,030 - €106,216 based on experience * Permanent, full-time pensionable contract * 37.5 hours per week * 28 days annual leave plus 10 Public Holidays * Professional development opportunities * Free car parking * Modern and growing range of services
