Director of Nursing role at a 82 bed nursing home in Co. Louth, overseeing nursing department and leading a team of professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the nursing department and lead a team of dedicated nursing professionals
- Ensure the highest quality of patient care, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Lead and mentor a team to achieve strategic objectives and foster a culture of excellence
- Provide support, advice, and guidance to the Home through an on-call arrangement
- Co-manage and support all departments, including nursing, household, maintenance, and catering staff
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a registered nurse in the last 6 years in care of the older person
- Currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Post-registration in management qualification (QQI Level 6 minimum)
- Postgraduate diploma in Gerontology is desirable
- Working knowledge of HIQA standards, procedures, and guidelines
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Sound decision-making ability and results-driven
- Good appreciation of finance issues
- Ability to motivate self and others and work on own initiative
- Ability to work well and promote a team environment
