Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) / Person in Charge (PIC) to lead the nursing team at a nursing home in Laois. Ideal for a nursing professional with strong leadership skills and acute experience, providing strategic direction and fostering a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and direction to the nursing team, promoting excellence in resident care
* Oversee recruitment, training, and evaluation of nursing staff
* Implement nursing policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory standards and best practices
* Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth and job satisfaction
* Ensure high-quality, resident-centered care for all residents, developing and maintaining individualized care plans
* Monitor and evaluate resident care practices, addressing concerns and resolving complaints in a timely manner
* Uphold residents' dignity, privacy, and rights in all aspects of care
* Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards, preparing for and participating in regulatory inspections and audits
* Manage the nursing department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources, and collaborate with senior management on financial planning and resource allocation
* Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident care and operational efficiency, analyzing data and implementing evidence-based practices
Requirements
* BSN required, MSN or Healthcare Administration preferred
* Current RN license in Ireland
* Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
* Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, nursing practices, and quality standards
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to resident care and a strong ethical commitment to integrity
