We currently have an opportunity for a Director of Product Brands to join our retail team. As a member of the retail management team, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of an effective business strategy that increases shareholder value aligned with the Musgrave strategy and in keeping with the long-term vision and values of the company. You will work with the Managing Director to develop and implement the commercial strategy for our Product Brands. The Director of Product Brands will play a pivotal role in designing the short, medium and long-term strategy for our Retail Product Brands, including Donnybrook Fair, Frank & Honest, The Happy Pear, Mood, Clean Cut Meals, and SuperValu Insurance. Commercial Strategy As Director of Product Brands, you will develop and implement the commercial strategy for our key Retail Product Brands. You will lead the development of our Product Brands. You will monitor the economic environment, current market trends (retail, food production and financial services), customer and consumer feedback and trends, and specific competitive factors and their impact on the brands and develop appropriate solutions to ensure our offer remains relevant, competitive and compelling. You will prepare and implement appropriate short, medium and long-term objectives and plans to develop our brands and drive our sales and profit. You will ensure that appropriate commercial policies, practices, standards and disciplines are fully embedded across our brands. With the support of our Finance team, you will establish and track appropriate KPI`s across the business and report progress against goals and targets at management meetings. You will work with the management team to carry out business analysis as appropriate to identify areas of potential commercial growth and opportunities in sales, acquisitions, margin and profit. Developing our Brands You will continuously review and develop the customer offer to deliver sales and profit targets. You will ensure effective engagement with all stakeholders in particular the operations teams to ensure they understand, buy-into and implement the plan to ensure we maximize sales and margin return. You will review the performance and offering of our Brands on an ongoing basis, based on KPIs, customer feedback and informed by market and consumer research, marketing and sales department input. You will drive innovation through our customer offer by leading cross functional teams including, Trading, Operations, Sales and Marketing. You will develop and execute appropriate seasonal plans to drive sales and profit growth. As Director of Product Brands, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of business plans for new acquisitions. Contribute to the success of the Retail / MRPI division and Musgrave As Director of Product Brands, you will participate effectively in the Management Team by contributing to the establishment and delivery of company direction and strategy, and the achievement of the division`s overall objectives. You will contribute to the development and implementation of the overall Product Brands strategy. You will provide support for Musgrave-wide initiatives in areas of expertise, as required. You will monitor current market dynamics, competitor activity and emerging trends and their potential impact on the business or that of our customers and ensure appropriate plans are in place to protect the business performance. You will ensure that management practices remain true to the values of Musgrave. You will work cross-functionally to review all departmental plans and budgets in line with strategic objectives and fostering inter-departmental co-operation. Leadership and Talent Development You will lead and develop the Product Brands Management team to ensure that they have the skill sets, resources and support needed to achieve our business objectives, and that they operate in a manner consistent with the values and guiding principles of Musgrave. You will build a sustainable, high performing, engaged team by providing clear direction, stretch targets and regular reviews to manage all levels of performance. You will demonstrate the Musgrave leadership skills and values holding self and others accountable for meeting and exceeding objectives and maximize the potential of team members to encourage and sponsor talent to ensure succession in the division and across the organisation. You will communicate clearly and positively to engage all colleagues to ensure they understand their role in delivering the brands business objectives. You will positively influence company culture in line with company values. You will challenge the Retail / MRPI Management team and actively coach and mentor team members and develop talent for the future. The successful candidate will have/be: 5 years+ of progressive experience in a senior commercial management position within the retail or wholesale sector, managing a significant portfolio with a proven track record of delivering a commercial strategy and exceptional results Proven people management and leadership experience Experience of working in brand development and implementation. Track record of successfully leading major organisational change and improvement initiatives Strong leadership skills can paint a compelling picture, provide clarity, lead a team, effectively engage stakeholders and deliver exceptional results Ability to deal quickly with complex business issues, articulate strategic plans & represent the business to major suppliers Excellent interpersonal, presentation and influencing skills and an ability to interact at all levels of the organisation and motivate senior teams and colleagues to get things done Strong customer focus and commitment to customer service excellence Strong negotiation skills Energetic, enthusiastic and confident Tenacious with a strong and resilient personality Innovative Structured, organised and methodical with a deadline focus Degree or relevant experience Experience of growing newly acquired businesses is desirable Work location is flexible in the Republic of Ireland.We have offices inCork and Dublin. Musgrave operate a Work Smart hybrid working model where you can alternate your time between connecting and collaborating in the business and working remotely.
