Position Summary: The Director of Sustainability & International Markets is a senior role within IOB with responsibility for leading IOBs extensive commitments to support , culture, diversity, and inclusion within the financial services sector, as well as improving how we manage our impacts. The successful candidate will execute and further develop IOBs ambitious strategy in sustainability, extending our handprint in this area through education and learning. A further key aspect of this role is the growth of IOBs full education and training portfolio internationally across Europe and beyond, in line with our international strategy. This role encompasses a strong emphasis on IOBs financial sector work with public sector bodies. The role will help position IOB in select international markets, support the global operations of our domestic market, and deliver distinctive propositions, harnessing Irelands position, and reputation as a global financial services hub. A member of the Executive team, the successful candidate will have deep knowledge of, and be a recognised market leader in ESG, sustainability, sustainable finance and global areas of central banking, finance, and financial regulation. Principal Duties: Thought Leadership Research, and keep abreast of, key industry, government and international developments and regulations in corporate sustainability, sustainable finance, ESG and global areas of finance, financial regulation, central banking and in education and learning Coordinate thought leadership pieces from origin through delivery, working with stakeholders internally and externally Write and deliver key documents and briefing materials Represent IOB and present at key domestic and international ESG, sustainability, finance financial regulation and central banking fora Expand IOBs presence and impact internationally Sustainability Strategy and Programme Development Drive IOBs sustainability culture and agenda internally and externally Further develop, manage, and deliver IOBs ambitious sustainability strategy Identify and define baselines within the strategy e.g. for carbon emissions, diversity, and inclusion etc. Develop and launch our sustainability strategy Global Hub Manage and enhance IOBs sustainability strategy brand domestically and internationally Develop and report on sustainability strategy performance measurement framework Actively manage IOBs sustainability strategy budget Assess and manage sustainability strategy impacts and risks Develop and launch new sustainable finance programmes Engage and collaborate with programme faculty Develop and deliver the IOB sustainability strategy for Alumni Develop and launch sustainable professional training portfolio etc. International Markets and Public Sector Clients Build and manage key corporate, government and central banking relationships internationally Manage, develop, and grow IOBs central banking, finance and financial regulation portfolio focussing on international markets Support the global operations of our domestic market Engage with key internal and external stakeholders and enhance and manage IOBs central banking, finance, and financial regulation branddomestically and internationally Management & Culture Play a key role, as a member of the executive team, in the management and governance of IOB Contribute to, and foster, the positive IOB culture Other key projects and initiatives as required Education & Experience Requirements Educated to level with a third level qualification in ESG/Sustainable Finance/Finance or relevant discipline Delivery of programmes at level in technical areas 5 years plus experience in the development and delivery of ESG, sustainability and international strategies at a senior leadership level Deep knowledge of, and be a recognised market leader in, ESG, sustainability, sustainable finance and global areas of central banking, finance, and financial regulation Competencies/Skills Requirements Creative thinking and a passion for learning and staying up to date with industry trends Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Strong presentation skills, public speaking and articulation of facts and ideas Experience of writing insight and thought leadership features Solution oriented and problem solving in a dynamic environment Stakeholder focused with an ability to build and nurture excellent working relationships both internally and externally Excellent project management and organisational skills Ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet deadlines Self-motivated and ability to work under own initiative andwith a team where expertise is shared, and feedback is encouraged in a coaching style Exceptional analytical skills and ability to assess, interpret and summarise data streams A strong work ethic and a track record of delivering excellence Strong digital literacy including the Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms Application Procedure Successful candidates must live in Ireland and hold a working visa.
