Established in 2006, The Irish Heritage Trust CLG (IHT) is an independent not-for-profit which cares for, protects and brings to life a variety of historic houses, gardens and parklands in Ireland, in a financially sustainable manner, while developing innovative visitor experiences at these beautiful places: Fota House & Gardens (Cork); Johnstown Castle Estate, Museum & Gardens (Wexford); and Strokestown Park & The National Famine Museum (Roscommon).
IHT is headquartered at 11 Parnell Square, Dublin 1 where it has embarked on a multi-million refurbishment programme in conjunction with its partners at the property.
We also recently announced and are delighted to be the partner of choice with ESB to develop 12 Fitzwilliam Street as a compelling heritage visitor attraction in Dublins South Georgian Core showcasing the development of science and technology in the home over 200 years.
Our Vision is to secure the future sustainability of Irelands built heritage, and by working in the public interest to establish a strengthened understanding of the importance of our built and natural heritage, and through active participation to create a lasting connection between people and these special heritage places and their collections.
At Irish Heritage Trust, we are passionate about bringing benefit to local communities and businesses through tourism, employment and a growing volunteering programme.
As we continue to share these wonderful properties in meaningful ways, we believe that they will not only survive but thrive for future generations to enjoy.
The work of our staff, supporters and partners is guided by our management team and voluntary Board of Trustees underpinned by our common goal to preserve our heritage and create sustainable benefits for local communities.
