Job Description

Director of Investment and Strategy to be responsible for capital deployment, fund raising, market and industry analysis, performance monitoring and reporting, and investor communications.

Our company is a leading player in the aviation industry, and we are looking for a seasoned professional to join our Investment and Strategy Team. The successful candidate will be based in Dublin and will have the opportunity to work closely with our team in Miami and Dublin, as well as with external industry professionals.

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparation of fund marketing materials, including presentations, white papers, and strategy outlook.
  • Assist the Investor Relations team with due diligence requests and meetings.
  • Preparation of regular and ad-hoc market commentary, including presentations, white papers, and strategy outlook.
  • Preparation of annual and semi-annual firm performance presentations.
  • Capital Deployment: Asset-level modelling, determining assets allocation and optimal outcome for returns.
  • Preparation of LOIs, liaising with the Marketing, Technical and Legal teams.
  • Preparation of approval memoranda for acquisitions and key portfolio decisions.
  • Support the Legal, Contracts and Finance teams through the acquisition process.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track report and model current fund performance, and assist with the preparation of internal approval documentation, ad hoc reports, and memorandums.
  • Quarterly Reporting: Preparation of CAP quarterly reports, including AUM, Track Record, Servicer, and CAP Fleet files.
  • Support the Investor Relations team with the preparation and update of the Corporate Presentation, Fund update presentations, market outlook presentations, and performance reports.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor Aerdata to determine all CMS-related issues, including negotiations, agreements, and system problems.
  • Lead project to evaluate alternatives to Aerdata.
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis, analysis of decoupling back-office from contract management system/services.
  • Analyze whether CMS system functionalities are being fully utilized, how to drive better reporting from system, and how to integrate data better with Apollo Enterprise Management System (AEMS).
  • Oversee IT programmers to ensure projects remain on task and are completed timely.
  • Responsible for liaising with various departments within the organization to understand the needs of the department and prioritize work for IT programmers.
  • In coordination with the billings and credit teams, review the firm's current billing, collections, and accounts receivable management accounting and reporting processes, with the goal of identifying areas of improvement and subsequent implementation of any approved recommendations.
  • Perform walkthroughs with all departments within the organization and help document policies and procedures, including flow charts of key processes and workflows.
  • Assess requirement for assistance with this process from external consultant and determine which external consultant to use, if required.
  • Identify opportunities for system automation in process walkthroughs, research viable system alternatives for automation, budget costs, cost-benefit analysis, etc.
  • Identify tools, resources, etc. to allow the Company to better leverage data for analysis, portfolio management, technical cost management, and acquisitions.
  • Initiate and lead process improvement initiatives throughout the organization and across departments.
  • Evaluate further processes or modules that can be incorporated into the AEMS system.
  • Improve training on internal systems and operational procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Create and present reports to senior management to support recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in finance, economics, statistics, and probabilities or equivalent.
  • 6 years or more of experience in aviation-related business.
  • Strong statistical and analytical background.
  • Excellent communication, report writing skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to work under tight deadlines and flexibility to work different hours.
  • Self-starter using own initiative and team player.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to work on more than one project at a time.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Power Point.
  • Ability to assist and support others and cope well under pressure.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in any other language is a plus.
