Support individuals with disabilities to live meaningful lives, making choices and exercising their rights and preferences.

St. Margarets Network is a rights-based service working in partnership with adults with disabilities and their families/significant people. We support individuals to live in their own homes, at the heart of their family, friends, and community.

The Discovery Coordinator plays a central role in supporting individuals to develop their confidence, express their will and preference, and exercise their rights and choices in all aspects of their life and lifestyle.

The ideal candidate has experience working with people who have experienced devaluation in their life, building relationships, and supporting individuals to make choices that positively impact their life.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies with individuals to focus on their choices and assist them to consider how they would like to live their life now and in the future.
  • Guide individuals through a process of discovery and support them to know and understand their right to make decisions and be in control of their life.
  • Develop and implement plans for individuals' lives to the extent they desire.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with people who have experienced devaluation in their life.
  • Experience and evidence of building relationships and supporting people to make choices that have positively impacted them in their life.
  • Evidence of bringing fun and joy into their ways of working and supporting individuals.
  • A sound knowledge of UNCRPD, the Assisted Decision-Making Act, and the HSE National Consent Policy.
  • A good knowledge of Social Role Valorisation (SRV) / Supported Self-Directed Living (SSDL).
  • A high capacity for working autonomously.
  • Well-developed time management skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work on their own initiative.
  • High level of spoken and written English.
  • High levels of IT literacy and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A full clean driver's license.
