IT Security Engineer Data Security Location: Dublin 3 days per week onsite Reports To: CISO Department: IT Security Employment Type: Full Time Job Overview: The IT Security Engineer specialising in Data Security and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) will be responsible for safeguarding the organisation's sensitive information and ensuring compliance with data security policies and standards. This role involves implementing, monitoring, and managing security measures to protect data across the enterprise, with a focus on preventing data breaches and unauthorized access. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of DLP technologies, data security best practices, and relevant regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Data Security and DLP Implementation: Design, deploy, and manage DLP solutions to protect sensitive data and prevent data leakage. Configure and maintain DLP policies, rules, and exceptions based on business needs and risk assessments. Implement encryption, tokenization, and other data protection techniques to safeguard sensitive information. Monitoring and Incident Response: Monitor and analyze DLP alerts and security events to identify potential data breaches or policy violations. Investigate and respond to data security incidents, including forensic analysis and reporting. Coordinate with other security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and mitigate risks. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (GDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO standards) Conduct regular audits and assessments of data security controls and processes. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address data privacy and protection issues. Policy Development and Training: Develop and maintain data security policies, procedures, and guidelines. Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees on data security best practices and DLP policies. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data security and DLP technologies. Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance data protection capabilities. Participate in security reviews and risk assessments for new projects and initiatives. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are a plus. years of experience in IT security, with a focus on data security and DLP. Strong understanding of DLP technologies (e.g., Symantec, McAfee, Forcepoint) and data encryption methods. Experience with security monitoring tools, SIEM systems, and incident response procedures. Knowledge of data protection regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
