Job Description

Seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide assessment and targeted interventions for individuals presenting with self-harm in the Emergency Department, ensuring timely access to relevant support services.

CHO Dublin North City and County is one of nine Community Healthcare Organisations across the country, responsible for providing care and services to a geographical population of approximately 679,579.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist Self-Harm in the ED has a pivotal role in the delivery of effective, recovery-oriented integrated care for individuals presenting with self-harm to the Emergency Department.

The role involves working collaboratively with acute hospital colleagues and developing pathways of care and referral procedures with other statutory and voluntary agencies within the community/locality.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assessment and targeted interventions to support individuals presenting in a time of crisis with self-harm, ensuring they have the required assessments, interventions, and assertive follow-up.

The role requires a strong understanding of the National Clinical Programme and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care pathways.

The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with a strong background in mental health and a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
