We recognise and understand that employees have missed spending quality time with loved ones and extended family.Cork Qualcomm policy allows our employees to blend short-term remote working with annual leave.The DTCO/PPA team is part of the DTECH organization in Qualcomm, similar to R&D - Research and Development, responsible for evaluating every new tech-node on the market, starting with spice simulations on a few cells, continuing with synthesis and Place and Route for digital designs, working closely with the most advanced microchip foundries in the world, and collaborating with the best EDA vendors in the industry which provide us the tools.Your responsibilities will include:Working on a team of 6 engineers, focusing on the evaluation of every new technology node.Main activity will be Spice simulations for a few digital cells, connected into a ring, analyzing data and interpreting the results.Correlating those results with real data based on silicon analysis.Candidate can use spice simulation learning further into DTCO/PPA exploration, performing synthesis and Place & Route for digital designs, exploring weaknesses in existing cells (DTCO) and finding solutions to improve PPA (Power Performance Area) from a technology point of view.What are we looking for:Spice level simulations is a must.Understanding of circuit design.Knowledge of device physics and digital design.Understanding of standard cell library characterization.Understanding of Python, Tcl, Perl languages.Experience using Physical Design tools from at least one of the following EDA tool vendors in advanced process nodes: Synopsys (ICC2/Fusion Compiler) or Cadence (Innovus).Experience using synthesis tools from at least one of the following EDA tool vendors in advanced process nodes: Synopsys (DC/Fusion Compiler) or Cadence (Genus).Education Requirements:Candidate must have a Master's/Bachelor's degree in electronics/microelectronics/nanoelectronics to understand digital design, circuit design, layout, and schematic.Where you will be workingCork has a proud reputation as Ireland's second largest economic engine and is now one of the Top 20 location choices in Europe with 39,000 people being employed by over 170 overseas companies.
