CIRCULAR BIOECONOMY CLUSTER: Educational and Outreach Manager Based at Munster Technological University, the Circular Bioeconomy Cluster is a leading cluster in Ireland and Europe that realises enterprise opportunities, collaborative innovation and talent in the bio-based circular economy. Circular Bioeconomy Cluster is an industry driven cluster set up to drive collaborative innovation with industry, SMEs, education and government to advance a low carbon circular bioeconomy with a focus on thematic areas of agriculture, marine bioeconomy and waste-to-value. The cluster had over 65 industry members spread across Ireland. The cluster is funded through Enterprise Irelands Regional Technology Clustering Programme. The role of the Educational and Outreach manager is to lead the cluster ensuring delivery of the cluster strategy, maintain a strong membership and oversee programmes to the benefit of the cluster members. More detail below: Cluster Organisation Responsible for delivery of cluster strategy Maintain and develop relationships and partnerships to enhance delivery of cluster strategy Conduct bi-monthly meetings with Steering Committee Attend monthly meetings with the national Enterprise Ireland RTCF Manager and RTCF Educational and Outreach Managers to ensure best practice Develop working relationships and regularly communicate with cluster members Develop and oversee delivery of communications and marketing plan Quarterly reporting Knowledge Transfer Organise regular knowledge exchange events (site visits, in-person, online) on thematic areas of interest to members Work with companies to develop new biobased value chains and identify new partners and strategic collaborations Attend conferences to develop strategic contacts and promote the cluster and its members ? Promote the cluster by participating as a speaker / panellist / sponsor / partner of events Finance Apply for funding to support strategic development of the cluster and participation in key strategic projects Signpost cluster members to relevant funding programmes to address their needs Project Accelerator Work with cluster members to identify collaborative projects that can enhance their growth and competitiveness Identify projects and funding pathways for collaborative projects for members Work with members to ensure project outcomes are achieved and identify next pathway Talent Deliver Bioeconomy Innovation Sprint Programme Work with consultants, MTU, IKC3 and wider HEI network to develop relevant training programmes Deliver a presentations and lectures to students about cluster development and benefits Marketing Develop and oversee a communications plan Strategically promote cluster members (online, conferences etc) ESSENTIAL Minimum of a degree in a STEM discipline Typically, 4 years experience in working on collaborative projects across academia and/ or with Industry. Proven experience in the establishment of external partnerships Evidence of establishing and delivering new activities, projects or networks Demonstrated experience in programme development within the Circular Bioeconomy domain Strategic and management skills: Leadership ability, self-motivation, reliability and hard-working ethos Experience of working with both academic and industrial project partners Strong knowledge of technological research strategies and trends Project management and innovation management Acquaintance with strategy development tools Excellent organisational skills Capability to find compromises Adaptability and agility in addressing complex issues in an evolving environment. Technical Skills: Marketing and promotional experience, including development of relevant promotional materials (such as brochures, case studies, newsletters, blogs, website content) Strong ICT skills and experience with technical presentation tools Education and Research Skills: Knowledge of industry clustering Experience of presentation to groups of seminar participants or student groups. Experience of participation in successful inter-disciplinary research programmes Familiarity with the academic and industrial research environments and willingness to contribute to group development of projects An ability to manage resources and people Industry and related policy experience in the area of clustering: Strong track record of working with the Circular Bioeconomy / Clean Technologies Sector Experience in product and/or service design and development Knowledge and understanding of relevant Irish and European policies and policymakers Knowledge of national research and training funding mechanisms Evidence of proficiency in grant-writing and securing funding Communication and interpersonal Skills Excellent team working and interpersonal skills Excellent communications and presentation skills particularly in relation to dealing with senior personnel from industry, agencies and internal stakeholders Salary:A salary of up to €85,645 will apply to this post depending on qualifications and experience. Contract Duration:2 years maximum or up until 31st Dec 2026. Application Procedure: All applications must be made online.
